展览前言:
“美国制造”是王易罡的一个转变，是他在清理自身的图像选择时追溯殖民化的根源，图像的转换带来意义的转变，本来被作为地域化来观照的样式，转变为对全球化的挑战。王易罡的方式是独特的，也是危险的，当我们仍处于文化的弱势时，他的前卫也太超前了，他必将陷入地域化的传统与全球化的强势的双重压力之中。
Made in USA marks a turning point in Wang Yigang’s work. It is a return to the source of colonization while at the same time it is a rearrangement of his imagery. The semantic change took place on the heels of a shift in the image, and what began as the mere regionalization of a form of contemplation, was transformed into a challenge directed toward globalization. Wang Yigang’s method is unique. So too is it daring. So long as our cultural positioning does not gain strength, his avant-garde will remain “before its time”. Inevitably, he will find himself crushed between two oppressors: traditional culture on one side, the push toward globalization on the other.
