重获灵韵：Lim Young Kyun 的肖像摄影

韩国摄影家Lim Young Kyun教授自1990年代创作了一系列肖像影像作品，在国际间产生了广泛的影响。Lim的艺术观念和影像形式，表征着视觉艺术中“身体转向”（Body Turn）的一种现实面向，并日益凸现出自身的独特性。

Lim的肖像摄影藉由韩国民族精神的当下面孔聚焦，探索肖像艺术的潜能，仪式化地表达了时代的主体危机，并力图召唤主体消逝的面容、身份和失落的认识论，其有效的解决方略是使肖像艺术“再纯正化”（Re-Authentification），因此不同于奥古斯特．桑德（August Sander）那一代摄影家在二战前透过“纯正化”所再现的“精神影像”，更是对抗当今普遍的“去纯正化”潮流——恰恰与那些充斥广告、影视媒体中光鲜浮华的所谓公共形象形成反比。或许，这正是Lim的肖像摄影的美学价值所在。

Lim的肖像摄影作品使用超大尺寸格式，黑白两色之间的灰调子营造出令人沉静和凝思的韵致，各自不同的人物不露情感色彩，偏向冷峻，趋于严峻，男性的表情甚至略显刚正不阿。人物的双目炯炯有神，直逼镜头，大有多闻阙疑，慎言其余的矜持自信，而经由照片极度的精准和敏锐，更显强化。---岛 子


Lim, Young Kyun was born in Daegu, Korea in 1955. He graduated from the Photo Dept. of Chung-Ang University and the Graduate School of Art & Art Professions of NYU, and also studied at International Center of Photography.

Limis famous for making works portraits of artists such as Nam Jun Paik, John Gage, Allen Ginsberg and many others. He was selected for official photographer of former President of Korea and Queen Elizabeth of England.

He had taken “Grand Prize”(1973) at Photo Contest that was held under the Korea Photography Association. Also he had taken “Top 10 Photographers” (1986) nominated by curator Merry Foresta who had worked at Smithonian Institute in Washington D. C. and “Fullbright Award”(2000). His Photographs are in the collections of such institutions as Museum of Modern Art (Photo Book, NYC), International Center of Photography (NYC), Munster City Hall and Oldenberg Landesmuseum (Germany), The National Museum of Contemporary Art (Gwacheon, Korea).

Now days, he has had solo exhibition in galleries and museums in Korea, United States, Europe etc., and participated in many international group exhibitions. Also he is a Professor at the Photo Dept. of Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea. He is also adjunct Professor of New York University.
